Divide the Ride can help you start a neighborhood carpool to help get the kids to school and afterschool activities.  Users are required to register--which is free--and can invite other families to join.  Divide the Ride then creates a carpool calendar and sends out text message and email reminders.

iCarpool can help you find carpool partners for a daily commute, recurring trips, long distance trips, and events.  The site requires users to register to access the service.  Registration is free.

League of American Bicyclists

This site includes information on how to commute by bike, what gear and clothing you may need to purchase, and how to keep your ride safe.

Public Transportation

The Public Transportation site has a national listing of transit systems.  To find the transit system nearest to you, select the Transit Systems tab from the menu bar along the top, and then select your state from the map.  You can also learn about transit options to and from airports.
